Une vaisselle qui valorise le grès brut tout en recherchant la finesse. Le point de départ était de faire notre propre vaisselle en respectant ce qui nous parait important: un matériau qui nous attire qu'on ai envie de toucher, de garder dans les mains et qui soit d'ici, une forme réduite à l'essentiel qui laisse s'exprimer la matière et la lumière, un usage optimal.
/ Tableware combining the raw essence of clay with the precision of refinement. The starting point was to make our own tableware while respecting what we find important: a tactile and natural material that we want to feel, to touch and to keep in our hands; a form reduced to the essential, allowing the material and its content to express themselves; and optimal functionality.

Toutes les pièces sont faites par nous et à la main. Elles sont tournées en grès rouge puis après un premier séchage, engobées de grès blanc à l'interieur. Le grès rouge qui reste non émaillé est poli, doux au toucher. Chaque objet est fabriqué dans notre atelier à Bedford au Québec où nous privilégions la simplicité des matérieux.
/ Each pieces is handcrafted by us, wheel thrown in red stoneware. After a first drying stage, the interior of every piece is coated with white stoneware, highlighting the inside outside contrast. The exterior and rim of each piece is burnished to a smooth touch. All the pieces are crafted in our studio in Bedford, Quebec.

Derrière le dessin de chaque forme il y a la ligne, qu'elle soit une courbe continue, ou un angle, il y a toujours le souci de la ligne tendue. Notre collection de vaisselle est le fruit de plusieurs années passées à rechercher la simplicité, à affronter la complexité de soustraire et à s'appliquer à matérialiser ces lignes.
/ Behind the design of each shape, there is the line—whether it is a continuous curve or an angle, there is always a focus on the tension of the line. Our tableware collection is the result of years spent seeking simplicity, confronting the complexity of subtraction, and persisting to bring these lines to life.

Des céramiques brutalistes par leur dénuement et naturalistes par leur matérialité. Le grès poli non émaillé qui compose l'exterieur et le col de chaque piece est d'un fini mat, lisse et doux, invitant le touché. L'émail est reservé aux parties en contact avec le contenu. Par effet de contraste l’interieur et l’exterieur se mettent en valeur.
/ Our ceramics are both brutalist in their simplicity and naturalist in their materiality. The unglazed burnished stoneware on the exterior and rim of each piece has a matte finish and is soft to the touch. Glaze is reserved for the areas in contact with the contents. Through contrast, the interior and exterior enhance each other.

Pensé autant comme une sculpture que comme un objet du quotidien chaque pièce s’efforce d’etre aussi délicate que pratique. Le grès cuit à haute température est vitrifié, les surfaces même non émaillées ne sont plus poreuses. Les pièces peuvent aussi aller au lave vaisselle et au micro-ondes.
/ Conceived as much as a sculpture as an everyday object, each piece strives to be both delicate and practical. The clay is vitrified, making even the unglazed surfaces non-porous. The pieces are also dishwasher- and microwave-safe.
